Music
The VAM Commanders, my ska-core/rap/polka/metal band from the salad days. We opened for Vanilla Ice once, once.
A grip of live VAM videos can be found here.
Cark, my garage-rock two-piece. This band was the most fun I’ve ever had playing music because the drummer and I truly didn’t give a s@#$ what anyone else thought of it. Ironically, this made people love it.
Some of my solo recordings.
The Sucker MC Jive Turkeys, my turbo-charged new wave band from Portland that featured members of Point Juncture Washington, and The Good Robot Us’s. Newly-released on Tingle Finger Records.
Podcasts
Disjecta Core Radio, examination of the effect of the Kindle Reader on publishing and reading.
Story Story Night, podcasts. A Boise-based story-telling series similar to The Moth on NPR. I’ve told stories onstage about the time my band opened for Vanilla Ice, the time my friend Matt and I almost died in the woods and a trip to my hometown after a devastating breakup.
Interview with Oedipus Text about my book, Secrets and Lies.
My appearance on The Writer’s Block with Amanda Turner on Radio Boise.
Journalism
Feature in Just Out, about the queer community’s lack of support in Portland’s renaming of 39th St. to Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
An archive of my work at Boise Weekly.
An archive of my work as Editor in Chief of The Rearguard, at Portland State University.
